When I was a kid I often referred to myself as a 'worry wort' and would fixate on the tiniest things, which sometimes made it hard to fall asleep at night. Delving into ideas for my recent exhibition 'Fields of Feelings' at Noosa Regional Gallery brought back memories of the handmade worry dolls I would whisper to before bed. These experiences inspired me to create little characters with qualities like hands to hold, ears to listen and wings to carry those worries away. Designed to sit on a bedside table or even office desk, these friends will hold onto all the big thoughts and feelings and keep them safe while you slumber or concentrate on a tricky task.
You will receive 1 ceramic Star Friend which I have hand built, painted, glazed and fired to midfire temp. Each one is slightly different and stands approx 11cm tall with a 7cm base diameter.
